Whats Left: Weekend Round Up for One

Last Friday, leftover cars were, well, non-existent in the Motor Trend garage. So, most of the WOT editors didn't receive a new ride for the weekend. Only one WOT editor was lucky enough (or cunning enough) to snag keys to one of the long term cars. A week and a half earlier Jason Udy asked senior editor Johnny Lieberman for the keys to the Cadillac CTS V wagon. Although there was speculation Jason may have had some dirt on Johnny or that Jason gave a convincing sob story; neither of the editors are talking.
Cadillac CTS V Wagon
My wife and I took the Cadillac CTS V Wagon to Utah over the holiday weekend. We left early Saturday (1 a.m.) hoping to make it to a car meet in Orem, Utah. We arrived about an hour and a half before it ended. Before I had finished backing in we were surrounded by about 30 people. Apparently 556-horsepower wagons get more attention than the Aston Martin, GTR and fourth-generation Supras that were there.
The rest of the weekend was spent catching up with family and friends. While giving a few "quick" rides (and possibly my mom a heart attack) in the battle wagon I realized I should have charged for admission but only to cover fuel costs. The Cadillac guzzled seven tanks of 91 octane at an average fill-up of $55 during the 1681 mile trip.
The wagon's looks can be deceiving. Despite the sloping roofline, we were impressed by how much cargo the wagon held. We were able to bring back a few more boxes from storage than we had planned. The power and handling are also impressive. Whether hauling five people or tons of cargo with the rear seats folded the CTS V Wagon's massive torque (from the supercharged V-8) combined with the Magnetic Ride Control suspension system makes the extra weight invisible.
I was also able to embarrass a guy driving a newer Porsche Carrera S in front of his wifepriceless
